How to subscribe
Five steps, in this order. A quotation costs nothing and commits nothing; the subscription starts only once payment is received and the order is placed with the publisher.
Choose the titles
Send a list, last year’s invoice, or the subjects you cover. We match each title to its publisher, current ISSN, media and frequency, and flag anything that has merged, changed title or moved to online only.
Send the order
Confirm the quotation by purchase order, letterhead or email. Tell us the subscription year you want, the delivery address and the person to address issues to.
Receive the proforma invoice
We raise a proforma invoice against the order — one invoice covering every publisher, with GST shown line by line, for your accounts department.
Pay
By NEFT, RTGS, cheque, demand draft or UPI. Email the UTR or cheque details to accounts and the receipt is issued the same day, carrying a QR code you can verify on this site.
The subscription starts
We order with each publisher, collect their confirmation and your subscriber ID per title, and record every issue as it arrives. Issues are delivered with a challan.
Eight things worth knowing before you order
- Subscriptions are annual and run by volume year or calendar year as the publisher defines it. The quotation states which.
- Rates are those ruling at the time of order. Publishers revise rates and currency-linked titles move with the exchange rate; a revision after ordering is passed on at cost, with the publisher’s notice attached.
- Payment in advance. Publishers do not open a subscription against credit, so the order goes out once the payment is received.
- Delivery is to the address on the order. Tell us in writing if it changes; a redirected copy can take a full issue cycle to catch up.
- Missing issues are claimed within 60 days of the issue’s due date. Most publishers refuse a claim after that, so tell us as soon as an issue is late.
- Online access is granted by the publisher against your IP range or a subscriber ID. We pass on whatever the publisher supplies and chase what they do not.
- Cancellation. Once an order is placed with the publisher it cannot be cancelled or refunded, except where the publisher itself ceases the title.
- A ceased or merged title is credited or substituted on the publisher’s terms; we tell you which as soon as they confirm it.
What we do while you wait for the first issue
Publisher confirmation
Every publisher is asked to confirm the order in writing and to return their invoice number, receipt number and the subscriber ID for each title. Unanswered confirmations are chased on a schedule until they land.
Subscriber IDs
The subscriber ID is what lets us claim a missing issue quickly. We record it against your title and send it to you, so your library holds it too.
Issue tracking
Each issue is recorded against the title and year as it reaches us, so at any point we can tell you what has been received, what is due and what is late.
Claims
A late issue is claimed with the publisher and followed up until it arrives or is replaced. You are told the claim date and the publisher’s response.
